Spay & Neuter Clinic
*** We are temporarily not booking appointments through PayPal at this time. You can call 607-786-7729 and leave a voicemail to book an appointment over the phone.***
General Information: Our low-cost Spay & Neuter Clinic is on Wednesdays. Surgeries are performed by a licensed veterinarian. The appointment must be scheduled in advance. You will drop off your cat at the Clinic in the morning (7:00-8:15 AM), and pick your cat up in the afternoon (3-5 PM) of the same day. We recommend that you spay/neuter your cat at 5 months of age and they should weigh at least 4 lbs.
Booking an Appointment: There are two ways to book an appointment: 1. You can book an appointment on our website through PayPal or 2. call 607-786-7729 and leave a voicemail and pay the day of surgery. If you do book the appointment through Paypal, you will be asked for your phone number when adding an item to the cart so that we can call you to complete the appointment-booking process by phone. If you pay on a day the adoption center is not open for business, you will recieve a call on our next open day. There is a missed appointment fee if you do not show up for your appointment. Please allow 24 hours cancellation prior to your appointment. If you need to cancel, please call 607-786-7729 and leave a voicemail.
How to Select Which Procedure:
Please read the full description of the procedures before submitting your payment.
Rabies vs. No Rabies: A rabies vaccination is required by NY State law. If your cat does not have a current rabies vaccination, please make sure you select a spay or neuter with a rabies vaccination below. If your cat does have a current rabies vaccine, we need to have a copy of the rabies certificate at the time you drop off your cat for surgery (a receipt from your vet will not work, we need an actual certificate. Please contact your vet if you need one. Anything that is not a certificate or an outdated certificate, will be rejected). If you need to send us a rabies certificate, you can email it to firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also bring the certificate in at the time your cat comes in for surgery.
Cryptorchid Neuter- if you do not see both testicles descended you should book the appointment as a Cryptorchid Neuter. The procedure is more invasive than a normal neuter because the vet needs to go into the abdomen to look for the testicle.
Additional Items Available for Purchase:
When you pick up your cat from surgery, the following items are available for an additional charge (unfortunately, we only accept cash at time of pick up):
a cone collar ($10) *highly recommended*
broad-spectrum deworming pill ($10)
earmite treatment ($10)
Please note: We do not have a vet on staff, so we don't offer any emergency or regular veterinary care. The only time we offer vaccinations is when you bring your cat in for her/his scheduled spay/neuter appointment. We only do a certain number of surgeries per week, so sometimes we are booking several weeks ahead from the date you make your payment.
